About Retail IT
Retail IT is a specialist provider of technology and service solutions to the retail industry with a strong focus on fashion and luxury brands. Based in Wimbledon, London, our customer base encompasses retailers ranging from independents to global operations.
We have a vacancy within our sales department for a permanent account manager. The ideal candidate will preferably have 2-3 years experience in a retail environment with experience in the technology side of the business. A demonstrable understanding of retail technology including (at the very least) an understanding of EPOS systems. A familiarity with the Cegid Business retail (CBR) would be very advantageous.
Job Specification
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the Sales & Marketing team. This is a very customer-centered role which will involve regular contact with clients with some administrative back-up support. Key responsibilities include: identifying and meeting customer needs, maintaining good after-sales relationships, keeping records of customer appointments and completed sales, and providing detailed information on the solutions we sell. The account manager will provide a personalised service to our customers, establishing trust and finding ways to enhance the service we offer to them and the solution experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers throughout the sales process. The account manager must strive to foster successful relationships, endearing our customers to our business. They will handle any enquiries produced by the client, investigate the issue and provide the necessary feedback. He or she will work hard to network and negotiate with potential clients about their orders, generating revenue for the company and will work closely with other departments and teams, such as finance and marketing.
The role would suit a self motivated professional that is passionate about solution sales and retail, with demonstrable skills in customer service and good time management skills. The environment is fast paced, so the ability to to absorb information quickly is key. Excellent communication and listening skills and a polite, confident and friendly manner are essential. He or she must enjoy working with customers, building relationships and have a positive attitude. Perseverance and the ability to respect customers' answers are key.
Key requirements
- Attend sales meetings, conferences and events
- Manage day to day customer queries queries in a professional manner
- Process customer orders using the tools provided
- Keep up to date with product developments
- Keep in contact with all existing clients
- Schedule appointments, calls, and meetings
- Help develop a pipeline for ROI (guidance will be given on all aspects of this area).
- Be able to network and negotiate
- Update the CRM solution (SalesForce) on a daily basis.
- Assist with communications with customers during campaigns, tradeshows and internal sales events
- Assist in the generation of proposals and quotations
